If you’re interested in the intersection of family history, memory, and AI, we’ll be regularly posting our thoughts on the topic for our project here.

We’re a group of friends who wanted to build meaningful memories for our family, literally.

About us: we’re all in our early 30s, and fortunately our parents are still alive and healthy.

But we know that their golden years won’t last forever, and before we embark on our own family journeys (some of us at least, won’t name names), we wanted to work on something meaningful.

We believe that the advent of voice AI will allow us to create a simple experience:

Anyone who naturally has that ‘family historian’ itch will be able to send their parents (and relatives) a link that allows them to record the chapters of our lives.

why we we started this blog

We’re realizing as we’re building the app and experience that there’s a lot of interesting learnings & musings that we hope to share as we build.

These learnings range from product development for AI voice products, contemplations about memory, and personal experiences being our own family’s biographer.

Joan Didion famously wrote, “We tell ourselves stories in order to live.”

Stories transcend any one person’s lifetime. Interwoven across family, across friends, across lovers, across strangers — across generations, they are the fabric of our shared human experience.

In the end, we’re all just stories, connected by nodes. Passed down over generations, they give us meaning.

We think (we hope) there are others out there like us, who believe in the power and magic of stories, and the best stories come from home.
